What's for Dinner? (redux)

  • Quote of the Day - "I keep myself amused and others confused" ~ Benedict Cumberbatch

I am also partial to roasted Brussels sprouts. I basically do the same thing; add some olive oil, (just) fresh cracked pepper (I do not even own any salt; when I became a vegetarian, I also gave up adding any extra salt to my food), and Balsamic vinegar and roast-away!

I had Salmon last night and it was delicious. Ida Garten gave me the idea to chop up some greens (scallions, parsley and dill) and top them on the salmon before roasting. Delish!
Served with roasted zucchini and sweet potato.
Going out for dinner tonight.

I had chicken skewers and brussel sprouts for my dinner at my seats in Intuit Dome arena last night.
It was great and I have renewal interest in making kebobs in my new toaster oven (big one) from Costco.

SoxOCfan the cat: Pizza?
Demonsbaby the cat: Cheeseburgers or beef hot dogs?
Fromcal the cat: FIsh and ships. Way better than Angels Stadium next door.
SoxOCfan the cat: Seriously?
Fromcal the cat" Absolutely.

I would take pizza or sausage dogs.

What's for Dinner... er... Breakfast? ~ Harpo's Bizarre-style

(Kids, do not try this at home... unless you have strange tastes, too... and your parents are not around to stop you.)

I have both instant oatmeal and instant grits packets in my cupboard. The other day, I wondered what it would taste like to use a packet of each in my breakfastary repast. Well, this morning was as good a day to try this out as any.

I also added a good amount of 100% maple syrup (none of that fake "maple-flavoured" junk). (If you are trying this at home, Robbie,
Lyle's Golden Syrup would work nicely, too. [I actually have a can of this in my cupboards, too, but felt my initial attempt should be with maple syrup.])

All in all, not a bad idea. The oatmeal flavour mostly overtook the corn flavour, but the grits texture overtook the oatmeal mush, too. I figure I got my daily fiber intake all in one meal now. (Is there a Daily Value of Maple Syrup?!)
