For anyone wondering just what the h*ck a "Samusa" is, it basically the same as an Indian Samosa, just spelled differently in Burmese:

Wow-zah!!! I even have most of those ingredients already! (of course, the only salt I have is some Ghost Pepper salt that I would have to go verrrry carefully with, but I bet it would still work nicely)

In food related news, the Pittsburgh Pirates serve the Renegade Hot Dog at their stadium. It consists of Pot Roast, Pickles, Carmelized Onions, and Perogies (when I saw it, I thought it was Agnolotti). Perogies on a hot dog - no thanks:ROFLMAO:.

Well, and with a tofu-dog (not a real hotdog); plus, the perogies would have to be either cheese or potato.

No d*mn KETCHUP, though!!!

Clint Eastwood! If I were to try perogies, I would prefer the cheese ones and not on a Hot Dog.

I put ketchup on hot dogs (along with mustard and onions).

Whenever I do get a tofu-dog (they serve them at the Giants home stadium), I always get them with the works... diced onions, spicy brown mustard, jalapeños, pickle-relish, and sauerkraut... but never ever any d*mn ketchup!!!

I heard of yellow and Dijon Mustard, but I didn't know brown mustard existed. The spicy brown mustard sounds really good, Harpo. I would eat that on a Hot Dog.

Does this sound like an interesting salad for lunch? (Keep in mind that I am one of the st*pid vegetarian ilk.)

There is a local upscaley grocery store just around the block from where I work and they have a pretty decent salad bar that I will hit a few times a week. They had an already prepared salad of: 𝓕𝓪𝓻𝓯𝓪𝓵𝓵𝓮 pasta (one of my favourite pasta shapes and just plain fun to say),
spinach, roasted (red) bell peppers (How come you hardly ever see roasted green bell peppers?), balls of 𝓜𝓸𝔃𝔃𝓪𝓻𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓪 𝓭𝓲 𝓫𝓾𝓯𝓪𝓵𝓪 (about the size of jawbreakers, but of course these couldn't), and dried cranberries (I know it is used in the preservation process, but I wish they did not add any sugar to these true botanical berries), with some sort of light vinaigrette dressing. They have several separate items around the salad bar which you can add in or just use to prepare your own salad-concoction, so I added some chopped kale (at the bottom of the heap), 𝙆𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙖 olives, chickpeas, and edamame. I then nuked the entire salad for thirty seconds back at work to take the chill off it a bit and to warm it all up (especially the kale on the bottom).

I did not see any sundried tomatoes (which they do sometimes offer at the salad bar... I did state this was an upscaley joint, right?) or
𝙥𝙚𝙥𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙨 (shelled, unsalted, and raw pumpkin seeds; which I would have added for a little extra-added crunchosity and flavour).

In addition, I also got a fresh-baked that morning 𝓹𝓪𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓸 𝓭𝓲 𝓒𝓲𝓪𝓫𝓪𝓽𝓽𝓪 to eat with the salad, as I am a bit of a bread-a-holic. Woe (or "Whoa!") is me if I ever become diabetic. (Like many of my food preferences) I blame my bread addiction on 𝓶𝓲𝓸 𝓷𝓸𝓷𝓷𝓸 𝓲𝓽𝓪𝓵𝓲𝓪𝓷𝓸.

What's for Dinner... er... Lunch? ~ Vegetarian Chinatown-style

It had been several months since I last headed over to Chinatown, so today I planned on walking around a bit there and stopping in to one of my favourite vegetarian (and not necessarily Chinese) restaurants. This place is pretty interesting, I have had almost every dish on their menu by now (they used to have a sister restaurant in my neighbourhood, but it closed several years ago) and they are all really good dishes (vegetarian or not). The really strange thing is that none of their dishes have any garlic or onions in them to keep them Buddhist "kosher" (don't ask). You would never even know by how flavourful each dish is.

Anyway, I had the #Five-0, Danno!

Taro Lamb w/ Taro and Satay Sauce. It had chunks of taro root and many, many "lamb" meatballs in it. There was also cabbage, basil, and (one of my favourites) slices of
kabocha squash in it. I am not really sure what all was in their Satay Sauce, but it was thick and rich and very tasty.
