All we can do about another trump term is hope that he just doesn't go ahead with some of the deranged stuff that has been mentioned. I think it's pretty obvious that he only really ran again to stay out of prison and make all these charges dissapear. Now he's in again and doesn't need to get any votes in the future, he'll only want to spend his time on the golf course, eating McDonalds and the occasional photo op.

painful but accurate. harris wasn't given a full election season to make herself known but on the other hand, the same people complaining they don't know her i'm sure did very little effort on their own to find out.
i find that very frustrating because in 2024, with all the information at our fingertips, to find out where all the candidates stand on issues should take maybe... what... an hour? To visit their websites, look up their platform, maybe read some articles about what economists think about their plans... etc.
people won't do the bare minimum to engage in the democratic process. if you won't take an hour and $50 to go to the shop to get your oil changed, don't be too surprised later when you car is in the shop for 2 weeks getting the engine rebuilt for $5000.
One thing is for sure... the majority of the public favors middle class tax cuts, increased taxes on the rich, abortion and health care access for women, people who are tough on crime, sensible gun regulations....... all policies Harris supported and talked about, and she still got blown out. "How do we get through to people that they should support the candidate that supports the things they like" is the question Democrats have to figure out. Good luck with that.

Seems the GOP has now officially retained control of the house of representitives... by a tiny margin, as well as winning the Senate by a margin of 53-47.
Quite the sweep for the Republicans. Did not expect them to do that.
Right on cue, were the Celebs saying they were moving to Canada after Trump's win. They said the same thing back in 2016 and they never moved here. This time is no different. Eventually, they will calm down.

Repubs now control both Houses of Congress, the Supreme Court and the Presidency for at least 2 years. But he isn't just filling up Cabinet posts with his lackeys. Lets see how far they can move a bit to the left.
