The Ohtani/Mizuhara Thread

  • Quote of the Day - "I keep myself amused and others confused" ~ Benedict Cumberbatch

The interpreter lives in a suburbia house in Orange County.

From the report... jeez

"The x5848 Account was held in the name of Victim A and was opened in or about March of 2018.

b. The x5848 Account was almost exclusively funded by deposits identified as payroll, in the name of a Major League Baseball (“MLB”) club located in Southern California, for which Victim A played baseball during this time period.

c. On November 15, 2021, the x5848 Account posted a debit transaction for $40,010 to Xoom.com, a PayPal service. Based on my training, experience, and knowledge of this investigation, I believe this was the first unauthorized wire transfer from the x5848 Account by MIZUHARA. Based on the timing and amount of this transfer, I believe it reflects the transaction discussed in the text message from MIZUHARA to BOOKMAKER 2 discussed above.

d. Between February 2022 and October 2023, the x5848 Account wired at least $15,000,000 to the x1911 Account. Certain of these wires coincided with communications between MIZUHARA and BOOKMAKER 1 where MIZUHARA stated that he (MIZUHARA) had recently wire transferred funds to the x1911 Account."

Any big dollar transactions, banks have to get managerial approval. Did they not check their work?

While I am positively sure (is there an eye-roll emoji here) that Shohei is as innocent as say... O.J. Simpson was... I just wonder if double that $4.5M would make Mizuhara take the fall, even if it might include a little slammer-time.

Nothing like dangling a carrot. When in doubt, follow the money trail.

Ohtani's interpreter will never hold a job or own a house ever again.

I'm almost certain the Federal Bureau of Prisons will supply him with a place to live and some sort of 'job' for the next 30 years or so...

I still feel that Mizuhara is taking the fall for the big Irish kid from El Åy.

But I also still think that John Elw*y is responsible for 9/11 and the Kennedy Assassination... so...

The Judge is ordering the Interpreter to go into treatment for gambling addiction. Not sure if that will work - you cannot help someone if they don't want to be helped.

Especially if the actual person with the gambling addiction is your old boss... just sayin'.

Of course, I can not say whether Ohtani is to blame in any of this, but if he were, you just know MLB is backing him all the way. Maybe Mizuhara was offered A WHOLE LOTTA money (even more than the $4.5 M he supposably took) from the powers that be MLB to take the fall. The money will still be there and waiting in 7-10 years, after all. They do not want their Golden Boy to look bad in any of this.

(Okay, so maybe I do think Ohtani is really to blame... )

I'd want half of his $700m to do a 10 year stretch in federal prison for him... lol

Money talks. There are nine transactions withdrawn from your bank account in the million dollar category and you are not aware of it? No way. Ohtani knew about it.

I agree, Harpo. MLB does not want the golden boy to look bad. The Interpreter takes the money (it probably was in the millions) and I bet he is out of prison in half the time.

Yeah, but I am sure he will be blackballed and never be able to work as a translator ever again... :frida2:
