I know I'm late to the party but I just started watching 1883. I'm on episode 4 and I love it. Only 10 episodes.

honestly can't remember a time in my life where i was less enthusiastic about a red sox season. i mean, in the team's entire HISTORY they have finished in last place 3 years in a row only ONCE when they did it for 6 straight years in 1925-1930.

Now it seems like it is a forgone conclusion that is just going to happen this year. (The third straight last place). i just hope the new pitching coach can do something with the pieces we have and show some improvement.

I think the only time before now I've felt a bit 'meh' going into a season was in 2013. We'd just finished last and had a year of Bobby Valentine and we'd signed a few veteran players like Napoli, Victorino, Ross, Gomes etc to fill the gaps for a 'bridge year' while we waited for the kids like Mookie, Xander, JBJ (and Bryce Brentz?) to take over.

Not that I'm suggesting we'll win the world series this year lol

I get that. I'm not looking for the Red Sox to win anything but I want to see some hope and maybe just a little pride.
The last couple of years we seemed to have lost our identity......not sure who the face of the team is anymore.
Can't really say it's Raffy but can't think of anyone else either.
I just hope we see some signs that this is going to be a fun team to watch for years to come.
they don't have to win every night but I want to see some cohesiveness and pride.......I hope that's not too much to ask.

The 2013 team is one of my all time fav teams.
I don't ever remember enjoying a team more than I did that season.
The whole season felt magical right to the end.

You wanna reallllly p*ss-off a New Yorker fan? Tell them that the little ol' country town of Kansas City has as many major sports championships in the 21st Century as the entire metro-area of New York City (that is including New Joisey)!

New York/New Jersey
Y*nkees - 2009 = 1

Mets - = 0
Giants - 2008 (2007), 2012 (2011) = 2
Jets (hey, it could happen!) - = 0
Knicks (ditto above) - = 0
Nets - = 0
Rangers - = 0
Islanders - = 0
Devils - 2003 (2002) = 1
Total = 4

They also had the chance to draft Patrick Mahomes in 2017 (along with a few other teams of course)

In case anyone is wondering just which little 'burg does have the most major sports championships in the 21st Century... that would be the little ol' seaport of Bostown (well, including that Foxborough team, too) with a meager 12 World Championships!!!

(In a close second, would be the SoCal town of Los Ångeles [including Ånaheim] with 11.)

H*ck, even IF you subtract the 6 Super Bowls from the Patriots... the actual Boston-based teams still outnumber all of the New York/New Jersey teams total.

What's Demonsbaby the cat looking through the window in that snow covered outdoors?
Some white animal I suppose.
Do you think that cat will find the animal eyes?
