  • Quote of the Day - "Do your job" ~ Bill Belichick

And one last cover of the same song, mainly because I was listening to this Steve Earle CD this morning and it reminded me how great an Americana song "Willin'" truly is.

Well, Win or lose... we always have music.

This guy is from Kaintuck'. A friend from Tennersee sent me this CD for Christmas. There are lots of good songs on it... if'n you like this kinda music. I do.

This song is extra special as Allison Russell does the duet harmonies with him. She used to be in a great little band called Birds of Chicago that I really liked.

And jus' 'cause I love her singing, here is 'nother one from Bird of Chicago with Allison Russell singing lead.

Of course, now I will probably be listening to the Birds of Chicago (just the ones from the Southside) for the rest of the night.

I will have to listen to that one in a little while. I am listening to the entire Birds of Chicago CD "Real Midnight" right now...

I just heard this song on MVY Radio and I had to share it. I don't know why I have never heard of him before.

I love it when I stumble across new music (well, for an old guy like me). I saw this video (just half of it) on defacedbook and had to wonder, "Who the h*ck is David Kushner?" Well, he is an amazing young talent, apparently.

So, of course, I had to check out more of his songs/videos on EweToob. (Caveat: the videos are all a little on the disturbing side, but the music is great.)

This is one of his newest releases:

Okay, last one by David Kushner. If you like his sound, check out more on EweToob. (This video is a bit creepy/sad, but a good song.)

This is a song that a friend's son wrote and sings. Caveat: he uses the "F"-word (as in "fr**dom", etc.) a LOT...

Just click on the little arrow-play button at the top; you do not have to digitally download it or pay for it.

Here are the lyrics, too:

Brian Wilson has died :( One of the greatest songwriters and producers ever. Rest in peace

Sly on Monday. Brian today. Who will be #3 for the week? (These always seem to come in threes.)

Ah I've probably posted this before... but it never fails to cheer me up hearing it... so enjoy (Couldn't decide which to post... so I did both lol )

Wow! I was given this CD for my birthday yesterday and am just listening to it today. This woman should be HUGE!

And just 'cause I am enthralled with her music, one more from Amythyst Kiah.

My "second mom" passed away on Sunday. She was the mother of my best friend growing up and I probably spent as much time across the street at their house as my own over my growing-up years.

As stated by her daughter (my "little sister"):

"This song was a song that I used to sing for my mom when I was a little girl, and as adults... we would sing it together. As I stood beside her for the last time on Sunday, I peacefully sang this to her with tears in my eyes for the very last time."

Since I saw her post earlier this morning, I have listened to several different versions of this Joni Mitchell song already (with tears of sadness and joy in my eyes while listening to each). I came across this cool version in my EweToobular surfing. I love the music of The Tallest Man on Earth, too.
