Quote of the Day - “Whatever you do, always give 100% - unless you’re donating blood.” ~ Bill Murray
I hope they’re not that stupid. He addresses none of the deficiencies the 2023 team had next year. The goal is to improve the team, not sign a splashy name.
Sure, that seems likely but the Sox also don’t need another lefty hitting OFer either. He just doesn’t add anything to the Sox they aren’t already getting elsewhere. I want them to be better in 2024. Ohtani doesn’t make them better. I know that’s an odd comment about such a talented player but it’s about the overall team.(Just to precursor this, no I'm not suggesting we sign him )
Say Ohtani decides to ditch the pitching completely... he'd likely play the OF wouldn't he? He's only DH'ing because of the pitching.
Zeroooooooooooooo. What are the chances of the Red Sox landing Shohei Ohtani?
Hopefully nil. He doesn't add anything the team needs, and I absolutely do not subscribe to the notion that you sign someone like that and then "fix" the rest of the lineup around them. If he doesn't fit don't go after him. In this case, he doesn't fit. What are the chances of the Red Sox landing Shohei Ohtani?
A top of the rotation starting pitcher, something the team sorely lacked all last season. What qualities do Yamamoto bring to the team?
