So even with this most recent Kenta Maeda signing, that still leaves a lotta good FA's out there.

C'mon, Craig...

J.D. Martinez is currently 36 years old and will turn 37 during the 2024 Season. What kind of contract do you think he is going to garner (after a pretty decent 2023 Season)? At this point in his career, I really can't expect many teams giving him a four-year deal, but a nice 3-year deal may be in the works.

I suspect the Dodgers will give him a 2 year deal.....maybe an option year on top of that.
Whatever it is, I suspect LA will keep him. He has been good for them.

The folks at MLB trade rumors, who are usually pretty close with their predictions for this sort of thing, say 2 years and $40m

Another one (Sonny Gray) bites the dust... and none of us had picked him here.

With the Winter Meetings starting today, I expect to see a few quick Trades/Signings. How long will it be before at least one of the BIG NAMES finds a new team, though?

I just want SOMETHING to happen!
Is it me or is the offseason starting really late this year?

Not especially... I think it feels longer when the Sox don't make the playoffs

Last year... deGrom signed for the Rangers on December 2nd, Verlander signed with the Mets and Trea Turner with the Phillies on December 5th. Xander, Judge and Yoshida signed on December 7th...

Next 7-10 days should be fun

I wonder how Xander feels now after his "new" team (that was supposed to be one of The Main Playoff [Relax, Jim!] Contenders) is currently in Rebuild-Mode and may not see another Playoff (Happy, Jim?) before he retires.

Nice pick! I am surprised that he had not been chosen yet in our little Sweepstakes-thing.

Of course, you know that you are only playing for 2nd Place, as Little Miss Pottymouth has already won this Sweepstakes-thing.

I am surprised I won it - I thought the player you picked had to sign with a different team. Aaron Nola re-signed with Philly. I'll take it:woo::woo:.

I am pretty sure the Ohtani Sweepstakes are going to be won by either the Ray Devils or the Oaktown AAA's.
