Last year it was just after Thanksgiving until the first 'major' one signed.... hopefully things start picking up now

Which FA do you actually expect to be signed by the Good Guys? I am pretty sure it will not be the big Irish kid from Anaheim nor the Schnellinator from Sandy Eggo. Hopefully it will be at least one of the Top Five FA prospects, though. (Get 'er done, Craigster!)

Needs to be one of the big pitchers from Montgomery, Nola, Snell, Yamamoto... preferably the latter.

I would expect it to be (at best) either Montgomery or Nola. (Both would be nice, Craigmeister.)

That seems to be a very Dombrowski type move to re-sign his own free agent pitcher to a 7 year deal they’re likely to start regretting in 3 years.

As this was Phil's first post with the "rules" here, isn't Little Miss Pottymouth the Winner now? Nola was a Free Agent and then signed. The "rules" stated nothing about re-signing with your old team.
