Putting aside the past personal issues Chapman had, from a strictly baseball perspective pairing him with Liam Hendricks gives the team a good 8th and 9th inning tandem that you can use interchangeably depending on which one matches up better for the opposing batters due up in each inning.

It was one incident 9 years ago. Not excusing it but I also don’t think he should be vilified for it endlessly either. If that behavior was ongoing he wouldn’t be in MLB any longer.

I could get on board with that. Also wouldn’t mind seeing Cohen live up to his word and not be beaten in his pursuit of Soto so the Sox could stop wasting time in the “nice to have” section and focus instead on the “need to have” areas like the above.

There are so many other reasons besides that incident that makes him so unlikable (although that certainly is a big reason).
He better get a quick exit if he becomes a clubhouse cancer.
