Was really odd with him though... he was absolutely lights out his whole career as a closer, until he came to Boston. Then he was out of the league within 2 years. Shows how volatile relief pitching can be.

yeah that was frustarting but i can think of not too many guys to put on the red sox uniform that i despised more than mark melancon. that guy was a good pitcher, came here, absolutely CRAPPED all over himself to the point we had to get rid of him, then went right back to being a pretty good pitcher. it was so effing infuriating i absolutely despise that guy.

Carl Crawford too obviously, but not like that jerk went right back to being good as soon as he left. he was just the classic case of "got my big contract, eff you, i don't give a damn anymore."
