Well... this is better than 90% of kickoffs being touchbacks...

so i thought the whole reason they basically turned every kickoff into a touchback is that so many guys were getting concussions on kickoffs. so is the theory here that if the players are all farther downfield they can't get a huge running start, pass the blockers, and get a huge full speed hit on the ball carrier?

In short, yes. Means there will be a return on almost every kickoff, but with a much lower risk of injury.

Totally kills the 'surprise' onside kick now, of course.

I do also like the idea of replacing the onside kick with a 4th and 20 on your own 20. They voted against that idea though.

Wait... the NFL is syphoning off ideas from the UFL (or whatever the st*pid Spring/Summer league is now called)?

Nope. I am not a fan already.

Here's what I found out in the news on TV last night

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has been sought by Dallas police in connection with a multi-vehicle crash that occurred recently. Here are the details:

  • Incident: On Saturday, a six-car collision took place in Dallas, Texas.
  • Cause: Two luxury cars, a Corvette and a Lamborghini, were speeding.
  • Outcome: The Lamborghini lost control, colliding with the center median wall, which triggered a chain reaction involving four other vehicles.
  • Occupants’ Actions: Both the Lamborghini and the Corvette occupants fled the scene without stopping to check for injuries or provide information.
  • Injuries: Fortunately, no major injuries were reported, but two people received treatment at the scene, and two others were taken to a local hospital.
  • Rashee Rice’s Involvement: A vehicle believed to be registered or leased to Rashee Rice was allegedly part of this incident1234.
It’s essential for all involved parties to remain at the scene after an accident, ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone affected. Let’s hope for a thorough investigation and responsible actions moving forward.
