32 teams qualify for the World Cup that will be play in Qatar in November of 2022.

Begins Monday November 21st 2022
Ends Sunday December 18th 2022

World Cup groups​

  • Group A: Qatar, Ecuador, Senegal, Netherlands
  • Group B: England, Iran, USA, Scotland/Ukraine or Wales
  • Group C: Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland
  • Group D: France, Australia/UAE or Peru, Denmark, Tunisia
  • Group E: Spain, Costa Rica or New Zealand, Germany, Japan
  • Group F: Belgium, Canada, Morocco, Croatia
  • Group G: Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland, Cameroon
  • Group H: Portugal, Ghana, Uruguay, South Korea

Qatar has some of the world's hottest temperatures. No wonder the Cup is playing in November and December.
 
Looking at the betting odds, there are 3 strong favourites in Brazil, France and England. Then you have Spain, Argentina, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Portugal all a little further back. Everyone else would be considered a major upset to win. Unsurprisingly, Denmark are the best ‘dark horse’ and they could argue they’re better than Germany, Netherlands and Portugal. Suspect those 3 have shorter odds based on reputation, although all are capable of winning it.

I went England because as always “It’s coming home” until it inevitably doesn’t and France go back to back.
 
Demonsbaby and Randy Red Sox fan congrats to your team Canada to the World Cup. I know that with a population of 35 million people is equal to the number of people in California. It be 90 degrees in November and December in Qatar while you folks shiver in the cold.
 
Suspect the Europeans will both get out of the group but Canada have got a few good players and could sneak out of the group. Although so do Morocco.

Hopefully Canada will have Alphonso Davies healthy and in the line-up

Sounds like he’s been training and will return to play for Bayern Munich soon. Although obviously heart issues aren’t something to mess around with but seems like indications are good. Him and Jonathan David are certainly key to Canada and their chances.
